Pastor Tom Smith My primary areas of emphasis are in Youth and Family ministries. Whenever possible, I enjoy using my love for Contemporary praise music, which is a wonderful means of experiencing Christ. Jesus
had a revolutionary view of leadership.
He said things like, "Many who are first will be last, and
the last first" (Mark 10:31), and "whoever wants to become
great among you must be your servant" (Matthew 20:26b).
Service is the essence of ministry, and true leadership is
impossible without a sacrificial heart.
As your Associate Pastor, I pray that God will empower me to
minister in response to God’s calling and the needs of humanity in a
broken world. For Pastor
Nash and myself, this means: leading the way decisively, shepherding the
flock faithfully, preaching the Word clearly, sharing the gospel boldly,
counseling the troubled compassionately, and assisting the poor
persistently. God
has blessed me with my loving wife, Amy, and our three preschool age
children. My undergraduate
degree in Religion from Drake University in Des Moines, IA grounded me
in our Disciples tradition, and the University of Dubuque Theological
Seminary prepared me to minister to all types of people and meet the
challenges facing our world and the church in the 21st
Century.
